BAPTA-AM是BAPTA羧基的乙酰氧基甲基酯化产物，可以很容易地吸收到细胞中。 该酯被细胞内酯酶分解，显示出主体在细胞中作为BAPTA的功能。 生成的BAPTA保留在细胞内部。
